When comparing Rayon and Polyester, consideration must be given to the surface, fineness, and durability of the two fabrics.
Rayon has a soft and smooth surface, providing a comfortable feel when in contact with the skin. Polyester, on the other hand, has a slightly rough surface, and the level of fineness depends on the manufacturing process.
While durability is a weakness of Rayon due to its low tensile strength, Polyester excels in this aspect, being resistant to wrinkles and shrinking after washing and use. As a result, Polyester becomes the preferred choice in applications where high durability is required, such as clothing and household items.
However, when it comes to moisture absorption and breathability, Rayon outperforms Polyester, allowing the wearer to feel comfortable in humid or hot environments. Meanwhile, due to its water resistance, Polyester’s ability to absorb moisture is less effective.
