Generally, in a mixed system of sodium hydroxide and hydrosulfite, the dyes on the fabric are reduced at a higher temperature. Sometimes, polyvinyl pyrrolidone solution needs to be added, such as BASF's ALigen A.

It can affect the kidneys, blood, liver, and nerves and cause reproductive issues. Sodium hydroxide or lye, another chemical used to produce rayon, is corrosive and can cause severe skin burns. The hydrolyzed protein it contains also threatens the eyes, leading to severe eye damage or, in extreme cases, blindness.  

Rayon shrinks quickly, so it is important to be careful with this fabric.

One of the notable advantages of Rayon is its excellent moisture absorption, keeping the wearer comfortable in humid environments. It also exhibits good breathability, allowing air to circulate through the material, helping the wearer avoid feelings of stuffiness and heat.
