Viscose rayon is the most common type of rayon and is made from wood pulp that has been chemically treated to form the fibers. Cuprammonium rayon is made from copper-ammonia compounds and is considered to be the strongest type of rayon. Modal rayon is softer than other types of rayon and is often used for lingerie or underwear. Lyocell rayon is made from wood pulp that has been dissolved in an organic solvent and then spun into fibers. Bamboo rayon is made from bamboo pulp that has been treated with chemicals to form the fibers.
